Cycling in CHESHIRE & DERBYSHIRE Enjoy Quiet Roads & Stunning Views

Hollin House offers the perfect location to enjoy some of the finest rides, both on and off-road in the North-West. The hotel sits at the bottom of the famous 'Brickworks' climb – as featured in the 2016 Tour of Britain, whilst iconic 'cols' including Holme Moss, Winnats Pass, and Mam Nick can all be incorporated within a ride from Hollin.

Superb mountain biking can be enjoyed in nearby Edale and Castleton. Alternatively, for those that are after a more relaxed pedal, the 10 mile Middlewood Way is perfect - offering an easy ride and refreshment options along the route. In addition, flat, quiet routes through the Cheshire countryside are also easily accessible

Cycling clubs, teams, and corporate groups have all utilised the hotel as a base for breaks, tours and conferences and we welcome future enquiries. We are a ‘cycle friendly’ hotel

We have close links with a number of cycle hire & repair outlets:

Walking in The Peak District Stay at the gateway to the Peak District National Park

The hotel is situated on the edge of the peak district national park – a walker's paradise. Britain’s most visited national park offers a spectacular variety of scenery and routes to be explored – from steep-sided limestone dales to the dramatic high moorlands. There is something for everyone – individuals, families and groups – whether you want a challenging hike or a short stroll.

You can follow national or local trails or simply take advantage of 524sq km (202sq miles) of open access land. For experienced walkers, the long-distance 431km (268 miles) Pennine Way national trail starts from nearby Edale and there are a wealth of additional routes to explore and enjoy. However, for something slightly more manageable, head towards nearby Lyme Park, White Nancy here in Bollington, the Macclesfield to Marple canal network or the Middlewood Way – both just a mile from the hotel.

A range of maps with a variety of interesting walks can be collected from Reception. Alternatively, click the links below. Please note that all start from Bollington Rangers Office (SK10 5JT), just a ½ mile, 15-minute walk from the hotel

Please note that stout footwear is required for all.

We specialise and frequently accommodate walking groups and tours – please contact our reservations department on 01625 573246 for details.
